
Dangerous Goods Training Course
In order to comply with Chapter 8 of the Road Traffic Act 1996, it is mandatory for drivers in South Africa who wish to transport dangerous goods to undergo Dangerous Goods Training. The objective of this training is to ensure that drivers are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to safely load, transport, and unload dangerous goods in accordance with legal and organizational regulations. Additionally, drivers will learn how to handle incidents safely and effectively.
Furthermore, any driver who intends to apply for or renew their professional driving permit PrDP (D) must obtain a certificate of competence in compliance with NRTA
The course outline includes the following topics:
– Familiarizing with and adhering to relevant legal documentation requirements.
– Applying safety measures and following standard operating procedures during loading and unloading processes.
– Implementing safety procedures in the event of an incident.
– Adhering to the behaviour requirements outlined in SANS 10231 while on route.
